Lympne during Dunkirk - some questions

Hi everybody
I am currently working on the history of the french detachement (GC II/8 on Bloch 152 and Recon. Group I/14 with Potez) at Lympne airbase from may 27th to june 6th 1940. I've got great informations about the whole story but i have some questions for RAF specialists because i'd like to be as complete as possible.
So here are my questions :-) I've searched on "Air Battle Dunkirk" of N.Franks but i didn't find the info i am looking for.

- Is one of you know any british testimony about this french presence at Lympne
- Is there any birtish pictures of this presence ?
- On may 31th on Potez take off at 16.30 with an Hurricane escort to a recon on Dunkirk area. Any idea of the Squadron ?
- is someone knows the date where the n°66 Sq and its spitfire were at Lympne at this date ?

Thanks a lot to all for your help !

Best regards !

Matt

Dear Matt,

The book you mention is called The Air Battle of Dunkirk, by Norman Franks, and I have a copy but it does not contain any accounts from RAF pilots that mention the Armee de la Air on 31st May 1940.

There is brief mention of two Hurricane Sqns and one Bloch Sqn setting off on 1st Hune 1940 to patrol Dunkirk but still no mention of the other Sqns - but they just might be 145 Sqn or 43 Sqn

As for 66 Sqn RAF this was a unit equipped with Spitfires and was based at RAF Horsham St Faith from 16th May 1940 and then RAF Coltishall from 29th May 1940.

I will look for more details soon

I am not sure if he frequents this board, but a local writer called Robin Brooks is very well versed on Kent airfields of the period and a writer called Tony Moor is, I think, writing a history of RAF Lympne.
