Restoring a Spitfire
 
Some may have seen this or know the details, but I thought it would be interesting for those who have not.

There was a Channel 4 documentary about this project but unfortunately it was largely a vehicle for a presenter who, though highly skilled with a lathe, knew practically nothing about Spitfires. What wasn't clear from all that was just what percentage of this beautiful aeroplane was original parts. Certainly the restorers and their suppliers seemed between them to be able to make just about anything required. So if you have a few million quid going spare and fancy a new build ...
