The photo has been on sale before
I have a better copy and it shows the aircraft to be N6143 (and not N6153)

Cheers

It is correct that RT-B is N6153 but the photo you refer to as post # 542 does not show N6153, it shows N6143

N6143 ended its days with the Fleet Air Arm.
N6153 possibly one of half a dozen destroyed on the ground at Conde-Vraux on the 11th May, 1940.

Really odd Alex

I am away from my books, so cannot check
Is the photo manipulated? No way that the third digit can be a 5.

Cheers

My UK serial Numbers database has both N6143 and N6153 as Blenheim IV's. If the photo has been manipulated they've done a darned good job.

Re: Captured RAF aircraft, ebay auction

Hello,
For what it is worth.
I have before before me AB's L1000-N9999.

Pages 172/3.
N6143
101/5 BGS/614/13/42 OTU/140/42 OTU
To Admiralty.
N6153
114
Presumed lost in France 5.40.

Of interest is that -
N6154
114
Presumed lost in France 5.40.

N6145
114
Missing from Reconnaisance off Heligoland in bad weather 11.11.39.

From AB's "FAA Aircraft 1939-1945" as on page 50 -

N6143
To FAA 2.1.44; Eglinton to Stretton 10.2.44; Gosport to Worthy Down 13.3.45; Stretton 15.3.45; Cosford to RAE 26.3.45; Stretton 12.4.45.

Re Stig's picture. The "4" looks to me to be oddly a hard looking number between other soft looking numbers, so my opinion is that this picture has been doctored to make it look like it is N6143, I repeat, it is only my opinion. No offence implied Stig, perhaps you've been sold a pup?
Then again it could be a photo taken post WW2 at a Navy a/c dump, but the number"4" still seems odd to me.

Good Lord no Alex

No offence taken of course. We're in the same boat here, and your suggestion is interesting. As mentioned I am away from my library and every one who has followed me also knows I am a bit, should we say, handicapped when it comes to Mr Google, so I cannot check anything really.

I won't say aloud what I feel against people who doctor photos, but it is not very nice, rest assured about that....:)

Kaiyan
Yes I have the same photo as you show, but I am pretty certain it is actually N6153 and not N5153.

Well Bertrand
You may after all come out on top here. :)

Cheers

Hello Stig,
Re your last post.
The responce to Kaiyan'ssuggestion about N5153.
In fairness I think that it may have been a typo.

N5153 was an Anson.

Hi,

I have any knowledges about the Fleet Air Arm aircraft and I do not know how were these codes.

What we can see on that photo of this Blenheim is the base of the two codes letters and I guess an R and a T or K and I...

What did the Blenheims of FAA had ?

TIA

Bertrand
