German training loss, on 19 September 1943
Hello,
I receive an inquiry about a He 111 of II./KG 28 that crashed near Viechtenstein, Austria, on 19 September 1943, killing the six men aboard: Lt. Erich Friedl Uffz Alois Hindinger OGfr Anton Mörk OGfr Armand Ulrich OGfr Heinz Leidecker Gfr Oswald Schulz The book "Verluste der deutschen Luftwaffe in Österreich September 1943 bis März 1945" had not this loss. The Volksbund database show that Friedl died 70 km north of Wels, near a place called Horni Plana, Tchecoslovakia. The other are not in the database. That may explain why the loss is not in the above book. Another mistery is that AFAIK KG 28 was no more existing in 1943. The possible unit of this aircraft can be FFS C 8, then based in Wiener Neustadt. Has someone a corresponding loss in his file ? Thanks in advance Laurent |
