other sources for RAF start/landing times?

Hello all,

As not all ORB's of RAF Bomber Command bombers contain start and/or landing times, can anyone point me to other sources? I have seen the ORB of RAF Stations but I have no idea whether such data has been enclosed.

Any help is much appreciated ! All the best,

The Record of Activity should depend on the F540 compiler but having been one in the past, it all depends on the compiler (F540 for RAF Akrotiri for Greek-Turkish troublesin the 70s just noted an increase of air activity; for a BofB station, for one month it just said 'We have had a busy month'). Watch Office logs were also meant to be a record but they have been destroyed over the years. Sadly, unlike Flugbuch, as you well know, RAF logbooks do not record times

Hello Chris,

Not quite the reply hoped for but better this clear disappointment than chasing a phantom...
Thank you for your fast and kind help!
All the best

Hi Marcel,

the sad fact is that a lot of useful (to researchers today) RAF wartime records were destroyed and have not been preserved, meaning that when a preserved record is inadequate there is often no other source to turn to...

Cheers

Rod
