Information concerning loss of Feldwebel Anton Freudenstein - killed 16.11.1941
 
Hi,

Could anyone provide information n the loss of Feldwebel Anton Freudenstein who was killed on the 16th November 1941. He was an experienced bomber pilot with the EKI.

Вечером 16 ноября 1941 года пилот МиГ-3 младший лейтенант Яков Матвеевич Иванов (32-й истребительный авиационный полк ВВС Черноморского флота) таранил и сбил в районе Севастополя Хе-111. Лейтенант Вернер Кокотт спасся на парашюте и был взят в плен. Советский летчик вместе с самолетом упал в море в 5 км от берега на траверзе поселка Бельбек и утонул. Посмертно ему было присвоено звание Герой Советского Союза.

Hi,

Looking at Luftwaffe Officers Career Summaries it seemed Kokott survived and went on to win the German Cross in Gold and was killed in August 1944. Was Freudenstein the only loss.

Other than Freudenstein, the rest of the crew did return per Walt Waiss' KG 27 history.
