Re: Do 17
Nice!
It’s turning out to be a worthy little series. |
Re: Do 17
Hi Chris,
Are you also writing a book on the Do17 for Classic? Thanks. |
Re: Do 17
Osprey first then Classic/Crecy. Osprey one is almost finished 30000 words 30 profiles 70 photos. Crecy will be 60000 words & 600 photos

Re: Do 17
Off topic. It's interesting to see the word count of specialised aviation books. I never saw this before (true, I didn't look expressly for it).
The current word count of my Bulgarian book project exceeds 210.000. Compared this to the previous post, I kind of "overkilled" it, I guess. |
Re: Do 17
Dénes - I guess there is a difference between writing on commission to match a specified format for a series where the number of pages is set, as well as a ratio for photos/illustrations, by the publisher or if you research, collect and write freely first without limitations and then think about finding someone willing to publish what you've accomplished.
I'm not making any personal judgement related to the two approaches since I think there is room for both on the market and that they aim at different buyer categories. But likely you "overkilled it" to the immense joy and appreciation of us 50-100(?) worldwide nerds who will happily buy the book (knowing with sympathy that it likely was a financial loss for you) and then read the work in detail! :-) So by all means, keep writing! Hope you have photos to support it as well! |

Re: Do 17
Thanks for the answers.
I will ask the publisher if reducing font size would be an acceptable solution to this "issue". |
Re: Do 17
Hello,
Font size won't alter the word count! Col. |
Re: Do 17
I know, but it would decrease page count (currently at 600+), thus printing costs.
