Otto Huchler
 

Hello,

I am looking for informations or pictures about the pilot : Lieutenant Otto Huchler of 2/NJG.2; It's for a documentary.

He was killed on board his JU88-G1 the 27/7/44 near the village of Amailloux, after combat against Lancaster of 619 Squadron. He was born in Ochsenhausen.

Or if possible, contact with his family if possible.

Can anyone help me ?

Hello ,

Huchler had two victories during the night of july 27 1944 , two Lancasters , after been hit by returnfire from one Lancaster his other crewmembers were able to bail out and were wounded , bordfunker Fw. Brückner Rudi and bordschutze Uffz. Gebert Walter.

According to the Volksbund he was born in Ochsenhausen

It is a small city and his name is not so common so a search there could find his family.

It's mistake, it's Otto HucKler had two victories during the night of july 27 1944, with K no H. Two Lancaster in the sky of Germany not in France.

This is what De Zeng and Stankey say about him:
HUCHLER, Otto. (DOB: 30.12.17 in Ochsenhausen). 27.07.44 Lt., 2./NJG 2 KIA - Ju 88 G-1 shotdown return fire from a Lancaster, 10 km S of St. Loup(?)/France. Buried at Pornichet/France.Credited with 2 victories.

I am living near Ochsenhausen and had a look into the telephone book. There are exactly three entrys with the Name Huchler.

Hello ,

Strange enough Michael Balls list and the book Nachtjagd War Diaries Part 2 by Dr Theo Boiten and Roderick Mc Kenzie page124 gives the name as Huchler.
Two Lancasters were claimed at25 km north of Vannes at 0015 hrs and Lancaster LM484 from 619 sqdn at 0045 hrs 10 km south of St-Loup
