Have you tried the Admiralty War Diaries on Fold3.com? They generally comment on air activity over Biscay.

Also, there may be something in TNA HW13/30, "GNA [=German Naval Air Activity] Vol. IV, Sept 9 1941-Mar 31 1942". This series consists of daily summaries based on Y-intercepts, ULTRA, RAF crews' reports and POW intelligence. They were generally issued 24 or 48 hours after the event concerned.

ORB says Sgts.Taylor/Parfit took off 0730hrs to escort secret force returning from from St. Nazaire, they ran into a nest of Ju88s and attacked one which blew up taking Taylor's Beau. down into the sea. A quick look at GQM only showed the KFG106 Ju88 of Oblt Raymund Schoelke lost this day over Bay of Biscay.

Full crew list for Ju 88 A-4 8514 M2+Mk FF Oblt Raymund Schoelke, B Ogef Ewald Hummert, Bf Uffz Rainer Andersen, Bs Uffz Walter Zischler all missing - GQM report dated 31-3-1942 page 4

Hi Chris,

Piss poor connection at the In-Laws P540 say's little other than the two guys were on their 1st operation to escort secret force and failed to return to base.

Glover sighted 115 on 5th sortie gave chase for two minutes.

Pike sighted 115 on sixth sortie - attacked (no exact time given) unobserved results - another or perhaps the same 115 sighted and attacked return fire hitting G-George on port side and cockpit area.
Searched for 115 for a few minutes then returned to base. Petrol shortage crash landed at St Eval.

Best regards & Happy Easter
