K.G. 51, lost a/c
W.Nr. 3367 and 3439, both lost 1941 with K.G. 51, can you confirm these were Ju 88?
Kind regards, Pawel |
Re: K.G. 51, lost a/c
Sorry, I was too quick posting this thread :)
Seems they both were Do 17Zs from K.G. 3 Pawel |
Re: K.G. 51, lost a/c
Hi Pawel,
Have you confirmed whether these a/c are from KG3, and do you have any further info as to there loss? From the W.Nr's given, they would appear to have been Dornier 17Z-2 variants. Rgs, Steve. |

Hi Pawel,
Thanks ever so much for your speedy response! Yes it would appear to have been a typo, has you rightly say,but i dont have either of these W.Nr's within my losses for KG3,and i trust Jim P's data and experience, more so, than my own humble listings!! Thanks for your help Pawel, Rgs, Steve. |

Hi Pawel and Steve,
According to “Neizvestnaya bitva v nebe Mosvy” by Dmitry Khazanov Do 17Z WNr.3367 5K+ET of 9./KG 3 was shot down during Luftwaffe raid on Moscow on 21/22th July 1941 by Mark Lazarevich Gallay and fell down between Vitebsk and Smolensk. Best regards, Mikhail. |

Re: K.G. 51, lost a/c
Hi again,
"Neizvestnaja bitva v nebe Moskvy" by D.Khazanov has 2 vols. The third (and the last) will be published soon. In my opinion this book is not very good. The info is very poor, especially about Luftwaffe units. I've read the book but the theme about air battles over Moscow in 1941-1942 is still unknown to me! Best regards, Mikhail. P.S.Excuse me please for my broken English.:o |
