Stab positions for I./JG21 - III./JG54 during 1939-40

Hello,

Who can add anything here? I'm especially interested in the name of the Gr Adjutant during the WC/FC, to put a pilot in the seat of one of the EoE color profile a/c. Was this still Wandel?

Regarding Stab positions during 1939-40 for I./JG21, I have

Gr Kdr: Hptm. Fritz Ultsch (KIA 05.09.40) (I have names & dates for all Gr Kdr's during 1939-40)

Adj: Lt Joachim Wandel was Adj during the Polish Campaign (9.39), but for how long afterwards, and who succeeded him?)

T.O. Oblt Albrecht Dress (9.40 until POW 12.08.40; who succeeded him?)

Chef Stabs Co: Oblt Ekkehard Selcher (KIA 02.09.40; when did he start and who succeeded him?)

N.O. unknown (flying officer?)

Maj beim Stab: (flying officer?)

I also have these men listed at unknown Stab Positions during 1939-1940

Lt Joachim Wandel (Adj during PC, but until when?)
Lt _____ Bischoff (KIA 27.11.39)
Lt Siegfried Schmidt (PoW 22.05.40)
Oblt Joachim Strauss (KIA 04.09.40), ex 1 Staffel
Lt Hans-Erich Hornbockel (3rd Victory 16.08.40), ex 2 Staffel

Can anyone provide any further information?

Re: Stab positions for I./JG21 - III./JG54 during 1939-40

Hello,

A further note here from Gerhard Stemmer: "The old Trautloft/Held book says Oblt. Anton Schön was the Adju, but his two accidents and his single victory are all listed under 8./JG 54."

So this doesn't really clarify the Adj info for I./JG21 - III./JG54 during 1939-40. Schön is known to have flown "Black 4" from 2./JG21 during the spring of 1940, so this would indicate he was a 2 Staffel pilot rather than being the Gr Adj., at least on the date that he belly landed this a/c, either during the Phoney War or the Western Campaign.

Who knows more?

Hi

Some names was not right,

Chef StaKo. Ekkehard Schelcher
Lt. Hans Erich Heinbockel

Oblt. Strauss was not in the Stab of the III./JG 54 an d he was not died on the 04. September 1940. He was later in the Stab Erg.Gr. JG 54. Wandel was not the Adjutant of the I./JG 21.

Christian,

Thanks for the spelling corrections and information. If Wandel wasn't the Adj of I./JG21, do you know which pilots held this position during the 1939-40 time period?
