Phyllis Marie, a Boeing B-17F. Phyllis Marie made a forced landing with battle damage on March 8, 1944, at Werben, Germany. U.S. forces recaptured the plane on a runway at Altenburg on May 4, 1945. https://forum.axishistory.com/viewtopic.php?t=142855

Re: eBAy: Captured german planes

Though hard to see, this Bf 109 G looks like an Erla built Bf 109 G-10, the flat panel being "almost" discernible. The fuselage skin damage pattern under the rear cockpit made me think of Bf 109 G-10 W.Nr. 490 708 "Schwarze 7", Uffz. Franz Mörl, 2./JG 3, shot down west of Aachen, 24 December 1944. BUT the spinner is without spiral on your photo; Mörl's one had this conspicuous pattern, so this is a different machine altogether.

Thanks again for your haul, RudiS
Marc

This catch is actually a Bf 109 K-4. Given its peculiar camouflage, I wonder if it is not one of the very few Erla built Bf 109 K-4 in the W.Nr. 570xxx range. I of course stand corrected.

Cheers
Marc

After discussing this machine with Franck Benoiton, it is "only" a Bf 109 G-6, probably the same plane shown by the second photo.

Cheers
Marc
