He served in combat in each year that the United States was involved in WW2, flying 3 combat tours and held the D.S.C. Air Victories credited: 5-3-1 (conf-probable-damaged).

09.43 - .06.44 1st Air Commando Gp C.B.I.
11.44 - 03.01.45 8th F.G., Deputy Group Commander, shot down KIA by AA fire, Philippines.
