Do 24 s5+LK photo in Luftwaffe in Focus 6

Hello!

Short question. Luftwaffe in Focus number 6 reportedly does have photo of Do 24 S5+LK at Tallinn.

Does the photo show the whole plane or is it a portrait with only small part of the plane showing? I would like to know that for decision making (to buy or not to buy). No need to scan nor anything. Just description what can be seen in the photo.

Thanking in advance,
Kari

The image is featured on the back of issue 6 and is a detailed shot of crew member Uffz.Willi Busche cleaning the plexiglass dome on the Type 151/1 turret. The caption dates the photograph as summer 1944 and the location as Smelt Lake near Reval. The code S5+L is partially visable...

Hi
It is a back cover photo of the fuselage turret area & code, a little of the tail can be seem and the codes S5+, then the very top of a letter L.
very borderline choice if buying it for just one photo.

Thanks Folks!

Finnish Air Observation log books for 1944 do contain some dozen or two Do 24 flights (from Tallinn and Kunda bay). Towards the Summer the codes are all S5+_K. I would love to be able to collect camouflage and markings for one of them for a possible scale model. Seems LiF 6 is really in the borderline as far as this one photo is concerned.

Interesting info about the 2. Seenotstaffel Do 24s (s5+_K) can be found at the Do 24 homepage at:

@ Kari... that's an interesting link and reg/code list. That will come in handy for the LEMB Sktz Database...
