World War I photo

Re: World War I photo
Hello Ed,
Thanks for posting the nice images of the two LVG C.II 771/15 and 797/15 both of FA 15 according to the seller. Very nice images. Both machines are from the same batch C.664/15 to C.813/15. A long shot I know, but has anyone any further C.II serials from this specific unit FA 15? One of the reasons for asking this question is that according to http://www.frontflieger.de/2-fa015.html FA 15 was not established until 11.01.17 which seems a bit late perhaps for operational LVG C.IIs,although not impossible as the Frontbestand for 31.12.16 gives 155 machines at the front. Kasta 15 which did operate LVG C.II C.799/15 was already established according to the same source as of 20.12.1915 and thus seems a more likely candidate. So does anyone know what type of machines FA 15 operated when established? Regards, Clint |

Here's a shot of a formidable looking weapon with a rather sophisticated ammunition feed.

It looks like a Parabellum L.MG 14 with a telescopic sight fitted.

Re: World War I photo
Hi Ed,
Nice photos. Some of the more interesting machines (to me at least): Photo 10 Hannover CL.II 9272/17? The serial is a bit hard to read from the photo. Photo 13 a very nice shot of a Pfalz E.II. The serial is frustratingly close to readable. Photo 24 DFW C.V(LVG) 5187/16. It would be interesting to know the unit. Regards, Clint |
