Few unidentified Bf.109 crashlandings

Dear all,

Research regarding crashlanded Bf.109's proves to be difficult, certainly when damage is below 10-15% and the pilot unhurt.

So I'll try my luck here with concern to underneath Bf.109 crashlandings which occured in the North-Western part of The Netherlands, North of Amsterdam:

19th July 1943: Polder Beemster
23rd July 1943: Grootebroek
1st September 1943: Polder Beemster
18th September 1943: Bovenkarspel
4th December 1943: Zuidermeer

Perhaps somebody has something more on file like an unit or even a Werknummer

Keep my fingers crossed...

Hello Hans,

Just a quick reply - 4 Dec 43 is not Zuidermeer, but Zoetermeer / Bleiswijk the Me 109G-5 of 5./JG 3 w/nr 15343, 100% Bruch, Uffz Kurt Sossdorf baled out oke - fighter is on display at Vliegend Museum Seppe.

Alas no details on the other incidents.

Best wishes,
Rob

Hi Rob,

Great info! This one has been a long lasting mysterie to us (Ab and Johan too). In fact Zuidermeer is a hamlet near Berkhout and we always wondered why we couldn't find additional info in local reports or diaries.

Cheers!

Hans
