Consider checking sources like this before quoting them
Reviewing their own sources can be beneficial
And then make a decision as to how quotable and correct the source is
Perhaps a bit of "own research" of original documents is possible?

HENNING, Horst.
(DOB: 10.04.17 in Danzig). (R, DKG). 09.39 with 1./KG 77. 19.12.41 Ofw., awarded DKG, 1./KG 77. 22.05.42 Ofw. in 1./KG 77, awarded the Ritterkreuz after completing 314 combat missions and destroying 20 planes on the ground, 23 trains, 3 AA batteries and 1 plane in the air. (n.d.) trf to IV./KG 77 as an instructor and promo to Oblt.(Kr.O.). c.07.44 trf to night fighters and assigned to 8./NJG 3. 07/08.10.44 Oblt. in 8./NJG 3, KIA - Ju 88 G-1 (D5+JS) crashed shortly after take-off (possibly caused by a sharp change in wind direction) vicinity of Hadersleben/Denmark during operations. Buried at Fovrfelt ( or Esbjerg/Denmark). Posthumous promo to Hptm. Credited with 7 night victories, destroyed 20 a/c on the ground, 23 trains and 3 AA batteries in at least 314 bomber missions and 10 to 15 nightfighter missions.
Would have flown Do17 and Ju88A with KG77 and Bf110 and Ju88G with NJG3.

Hello Peter,

thanks for the data.
How come that Horst Henning is not listed by Johannes Mathews ?

Michael

In both Ritterkreuzträger books I have (fighter pilots and bomber pilots) he is listed as making "only" four claims.

Maybe Johannes feels that none of these can be verified?

Cheers
Stig

Hello Peter & Stig,

thanks for your posts.
Georg Brütting mentions one KG77 kill and three NJG3 kills.
