Re: Walter Nowotny's White 8
That is an EJG 2 aircraft at Innsbruck. AFAIK not related to Nowotny.

http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/pictur...&pictureid=633 There were two White 8s with the same band? Bronc |
Re: Walter Nowotny's White 8
AFAIK there is no photograpic proof if how Nowotny’s 262 looked like. This is just an artwork.

It may have been the one shown in the photo, but it was definitely not the aircraft found at Innsbruck.

Yes. For some reasons there are only few known photos of the Innsbruck White 8. If I remember correctly it was not found at Hötting, but at the airfield closer to the city, where fewer GI’s may have passed through.

Re: Walter Nowotny's White 8
Hello Bronc,
The photo in your first post was taken at Innsbruck-Reichenau in May or June 1945. I have seen only two other photos of this aircraft: 1. in Dan O'Connell's Me 262 Production Log, (2005) page 145 and 2. in Mark Proulx's Wings of the Black Cross Number Eight, (2011) page 16. More about this aircraft can be found in "ouidjat"'s thread "Me 262 ID needed" in the TOCH archives: http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/showthread.php?t=45236 best regards, Jim |
