Have Any FAA ORBs or Encounter Reports Been Digitized at the NA?

I've had a good bit of success finding RAF ORBs and Encounter Reports digitized on the NA website in the AIR 27 and AIR 50 files.

In searching for things in the ADM 199 files I've come up with nothing digitized. Is there another file series in which I should be looking?

Specifically, I'm searching for the ORBs and any Encounter Reports (the RAF's Form F) for 800, 801, 802, 803, and 804 Squadrons during April-June 1940.Does anyone know if any of these have been digitized yet? (Unfortunately I'm a bit over 4000 miles from London so going to the NA in person isn't really an option right now.)

Thanks in advance for any help, tips, or pointers!

Hi Steve,
I have a little bit of stuff relating to 803 squadron whilst they were at Wick.

I have a bit more relating to 804 but nothing regarding the other squadrons you mentioned.

Is there anything in particular that you were looking for?

As far as I am aware none of the FAA records have been digitalised.

Regards
Gerry

I've been re-reading Brian Cull's Flying Sailors At War vol. 1 and I'm looking for any more details (no matter how small) of the aerial combats mentioned in the book - things like the time of the combat (sometimes, but not always, given in the book - I could at least deduce a reasonable approximation from the Time Up/Time Down in the ORB), weather conditions, and details from the narrative in the Form F (things like "Sighted enemy aircraft off our port quarter heading in a southerly direction at 12,000 feet" - those sort of details).

804 Squadron is rather easy as there was only one of which I'm aware, that being on 27 April.

803 Squadron is rather more complicated as they engaged in combats on 17, 24, 25, 26, and 27 April, 7, 8, 10, 14, 15, and 16 May, and 9 and 10 June (the only one I'm not looking for is the Black Thursday raid on 13 June as it's covered so extensively in Mr. Cull's book).

I do have Fledgling Eagles by Shores, et.al. I was hoping to find primary source info and was hoping I'd just missed something searching on the NA's website. Thanks for confirming for me that the FAA files haven't been digitized!

Such FAA records are very much hit and miss, not helped by many, including accident reports, being shredded in the late 60s. Another source could be ships logs for those embarked Sqns.

Thanks Chris!

I searched ADM 53; Ark Royal's log isn't digitized and they don't have Glorious's log (I suspected it had gone down with her).

Thank you Luc!

I went through the ADM 207 files and it seems none of them have been digitized yet either.

ADM 207 holds FAA squadron diaries and standing orders.
