Recon flight to Sevastopol July 1941

Does anyone have complete details on all Luftwaffe RECON and Strategic flights to Sevastopol on July 23,1941 and July 25,1941 ?

So far there is only one I know of 3.(F) 121 DO-215 , Luftwaffe historical books and Russian
WWII avia data bases listing the flight on July 25,1941 and other books such as From Odessa
to Barbarossa Volume I listing this flight as missing on July 23,1941. A Black Sea Naval Air Fleet
pilot was involved in intercepting a Luftwaffe flight on 23.7.1941 who later on was listed as MIA
during an air battle with an unknown enemy 95 Km West Katcha Bay....which plots in my mind the location
of the DO-215 of 3.(F) 121 of Kommando Rowehl Group ,they sent a distress signal from this location at 08:00 am
to Constanza after departing from Bacau / Focsani or Rosiorii de Vede airfields Romania at O5:20 am .

The folowing campaign of SAR of Notstaffel 8 from Mamaia ,Romania remained fruitless.

My questions :

1, what was the correct flight date of this DO-215 ?

2. What were the other flight dates of Luftwaffe or Romanians if any whatsoever on July 1941 to Sevastopol ?

Thanks in advance

Re: Recon flight to Sevastopol July 1941

From "Seaplanes over the Black Sea"

On the 23rd, a Do 215 L2+AS of 3./Aufkl.Gr.Ob.d.L. engaged in a recce mission over Sevastopol is attacked around 8.00 H. by soviet fighters. One engine is burning and the crew hurriedly asks for help. The attack takes place too far for the range of the fighters ( around 250 km ENE Constanta). So, two He-59s, one romanian Cant Z and two other Do 215s ( from Bacau ) go to the spot. But all come back emptyhanded...

Hello

Thank you for your info, but I was fully aware about this development....though maybe you know this :

1. To whom in Romania they sent the SOS at 08:00 am ? Mahmudia ? Constanza or Luftwaffe Coordination Center Otopeni ?

2. How far out ( distance ) the Seenostaffel 8 and Romanian sqd flew to Sevastopol to look for them ? ( distance )

3. Do you have any proofs that the date in question was 23.7.1941 ? The single proof I have is that the Russian MIG-3 pilot was
listed MIA on that day fighting the enemy 75 miles west of Sevastopol , though according Russian sources the DO-215 was
shot down on 25.7.1041 ...which I think is not correct

Thank you
