Ogfr Alois Baumgartner (I/KG 26)

Good night to all!
I would like to know more about this LW airman who apparently died on 19th August 1942, probably over Dieppe.
Would be very pleased to know his functions ( pilot/gunner/navigator) and more about the plane ( werknummer + code numbers ) and mission he was carrying while at the time of his death.
Any background information also would be great...( I am seeking details of BAUMGARTNERs who flew in WW2 )
Thank you very much for all answers

Adriano,

All open for corrections by people who are more knowledgeable about the Luftwaffe, but it appears that I/KG26 was operating in North Norway at that time with He-111s.

Is it possible you mean JG26? I/JG26 was based at St. Omer, not that far from Dieppe..

Regards,

Leendert

Brian and Leendert!
Thank you again for both of you for sharing your knowledge!
I initially thought it was I/KG 26...but must have read wrongly the information supplied by the French site ( see loss of Bf 109 on 14 June 1944 on this board. The French site is good indeed ).
Thanks again for helping me to dig out more information about this Baumgartner flieger!

The Book on KG 26 has for the 19-8-1944 Ogef. Hans Hinz, Ogef. Gerhard Rohnstock, Ogef Alois Baumgartner, Uffz Heinz Wagner, Fw. Heinz Muhlack all killed in France from I/KG26. No more info I am afraid,
