Does anybody have any infos about Do-217E-1/2/3/4/5 batches and production details?

Any small info will appreciated.

It is terrible that Manfred Griehl died so long before his time. His work was very authoritative and engaging.

I imagine that the different information contained in Flugzeug Classic Special Nr. 4 is much less authoritative, but I provide it here for reference:
94 Do 217 E-1
169 Do 217 E-2
527 Do 217 E-4

Re: Do-217E production

German wiki has this data, sourced to RLM documentation via Bundesarchive Freiburg:
94 E-1 (44 DWF and 50 DWM)
629 E-2 and E-4 (129 DWF, 300 DWM and 200 NDW)
67 E-5 (all DWM)
34 E-5 converted/upgraded from E-4 (all DWM)

Re: Do-217E production

Hello Denniss
interesting, manufacturers same, E-1 production same, E-2 and -4, over 180 more than Griehl's figure, E-5, 41 more.

I forgot to write that the translation of the Airlife edition was awful in places. There are passages which I had difficulties to understand and in a couple places I had, with my extremely limited knowledge of French, to consult the Griehl's article in Le Fana de l'Aviation No 217 to understand the text. So the comment parts in my first message are not 100% trustiful. And Griehl noted that the serials/W.Nrn are incomplete and cannot be considered to be accurate.

Re: Do-217E production

Denniss has the correct figures. They can be confirmed by the two RLM Aircraft Production plans, Nr. 222 from 15. December 1942 and 223 from 15. April 1943 (both available at Bundesarchiv Freiburg in the RL3-series)
Do 217E-1: 44 delivered by DWF + 50 delivered by DWM.
Do 217E-2 and E-4: 129 delivered by DWF + 300 by DWM + 200 by NDW.
Do 217E-5: 67 delivered by DWM.

Conversion of Do 217E-4 aircraft to Do 217E-5 (Kehl III): 34 delivered by Opf. and not DWM.
