Luftgaukommandos American metal leaf index file

Hi guys, im Michele from italy, i have a question. I saw many post about the german luftgaukommandos.
A friend send me an extract from the file "RG 242/1033 - Records of the German Air Force Commands (Luftgaukommandos). American metal leaf index file on downed aircrafts during WW II, strips arranged
alphabetically by localities. Aachen - Zwolle. Box No. 1"
I'm tryng to obtain the index files from the NARA, i would know how it work, i suppose that in the index file i can search the crash site interesting for me (North italy), then ordering the file with the number reported in the index, isn't?

Happy new year!!

Michele,

I have another index - as per date - probably same source :

Found only 2 planes nr Albinea (1 P38 on 12/05/1944 and 1 B25 on 10/11/1944).
No entries found for the other locations.
Best regards from freezing Belgium

Hi Luc! In italy we are frozen too (-10 on this morning) but your help raised my temperature!

the P38 shot down on 12/05/1944 belong to 27th FS and was flew by Lt Richard Cooley. It was shot down by the Lt. Lugari (Italian fascist 1st fighter group, macchi mc-205).

The B25 shot down on 10/11/1944 was from the 340th Bg, hit by flak over Ostiglia (Po river), went down near Albinea, but two crewman was rescued by the Partisans and helped crossing the allied lines.

Did you have other italian names on thee list? How many page have the list?
Excuse me, but i'm very passioned about this!
Happy new year

Michele,

The list counts approx 13 700 entries - never counted the pages.

There is no indication regarding the country in question, so I'm not able to inform you how many info regarding planes in Italy is mentioned.

If you're looking for information regarding a certain location or date, please ask, I'll try to help you.

As the original list was not made by myself, I don't want to distribute this xls-file.

Best wishes for 2006 !

Hello friends, finally i have obtained the index (in jpg format). There are some little holes, but other friends told me that is "normal". If anyone would fill his holes, and have an FTP server, i can share with the friends my files.
