US Ex Serviceman history
 
Hello,
How /where can I access the details of an American Serviceman ?

Name was Rene A Gaudette.
I have found him on findagrave but that only gives family details.
Nara aad gives me one Robert A and two Raymond A.

GAUDETTE, Rene A "The Colonel"; 84; Marlboro MA; Worcester T-G; 1999-10-7. I do not have access to the Worcester Telegram and Gazette so cannot tell you what his obituary says about his military service

MARLBORO - Rene A. "The Colonel" Gaudette, 84, of Marlboro, a retired expediter and a World War II and Korean War Army veteran, died Tuesday in Westboro Health Care Center, where he had recently become a resident.

He leaves his wife of 55 years, Jeannette (Marsan) Gaudette; two daughters, Janice Lanaghan of Grafton and Claudette Boule of Marlboro; and two granddaughters. A daughter, Gail Gaudette, died before him. Born in Marlboro, son of Albert and Yvonne (Granger) Gaudette, he attended Northeastern University, Boston, before earning a degree in business administration from Boston University in 1941. He served in the Army Reserves, retiring as a lieutenant colonel in 1975.

Mr. Gaudette worked for Telechron in Ashland and later as an expediter for Raytheon Corp. in Wayland and Sudbury. He retired in 1981.

He was a member of St. Mary's Parish. He was a member of the Disabled Americans Chapter 82, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 638, ROTC, and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

The funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Church, Broad Street. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours are 4 to 8 p.m. tomorrow in Slattery Funeral Home Inc., 40 Pleasant St. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Parish Fund, 26 Broad St., Marlboro, MA 01752.
