unidentified claimants within JG76.

Morning Guys

JG76 was coming on strong after it's reformation in 1944. I have three unidentified claimants there:-

11th September 1944 1203 hrs P-51 3./JG 76 Lt "Braukat"
12th September 1944 1215 hrs B-17 1./JG 76 Ofw "Disch"(I believe the name is correct)
8th October 1944 1620 hrs P-47 12./JG 76 Uffz "Janauke"

Grateful as always for any help with these three.

Kind regards

Johannes

Ogfr. Franz Disch (1./JG 76) KIA near Magdeburg, Bf 109 G-6 W.Nr.440 298 "white 6" lost 12.9.1944. Only the rank is different...
the same day from the losses: Lt. Heribert Breukal? (3./JG 76) KIA in area of Harz, Bf 109 G-14 W.Nr.460 549 "yellow 10" . Surname also with question mark...
hope it helps

Lt. Heribert Breukal, geb. 17.03.1923. Surname according to NVM. But indeed a strange name.

In the VDK Database he is as "Herbert Broukal"....and was born in Jajce/Yugoslavia.....so his name maybe be mispelled/different/germanized.....

Re: unidentified claimants within JG76.

Hi Guys

Excellent work, certainly does help.....a lot. The Mikrofilms definately state Ofw for Disch, I checked just to make sure, but either the loss record or the mikrofilm could be wrong, well must be wrong.....Franz Disch it is then.

With Breukal I checked the mikrofilms again, there is an overwrite where the "L" is which made me believe it was a "T", I would swear the third letter was an "A" not an "E" but too many things suggest you are perfectly correct in your choice of pilot Heribert Breukal it is then.

Again many thanks for your help.

P.S "Janauke" could be "Sanauke" or "Sananke" anything like that.

Kind regards

Johannes

Hi Leo,
Are there more info available about this pilot? At October 8th he was based in Huefingen, south Germany, I am living very close to this former airfield but have limited info about this specific pilot. Tanks in advance, Rolf
