Arnaud,

I show none of these names on any of our Luftwaffe loss entries for 10 June 1940 in the EOE Casualty DB. Could this have been on another day?

GQM report of 8th June has pilot Oblt.Muller of 2/ZG 1 MIA on 1st June over Dunkirk. Same report has what looks like Ltn Franck pilot of 3/KG27 and crew missing Rouen area following combat with fighters on the 5th. Both reported as POW's

Re: 10 June 1940

Hi,

I have a nice photo of three German airmen in French hands, prisoners of war: “German aircraft shot down in the Dieulet forest (between Vaux-en Dieulet and La Neuville-sur-Meuse, Ardennes) by 1st R.A.C., crew captured by 14th R.T.S. in June 1940”.

In this Dieulet forest (foręt de Dieulet), I know those three guys were taken prisoners by French on June the 10th: the front was there so those three guys could be army men...

Do you have a Dornier 17 P (I guess) shot down in this Dieulet forest (foręt de Dieulet) in June 1940?

Thank you

Re: 10 June 1940

Hi,

three Lieutenants in one Do 17P? Bullshit.
Arnaud I found many additional Do 17P and Hs 126B losses in after-action reports wrote by reconnaissance crews but they were never total losses (they were only seriously or slightly damaged) as well as I did not found any "unknown" personal losses like KIA or POW (MIA) just INJ or WIA so I think that these guys were not all officers or just from flak or signal units.

Robert,

Agreed and thank for your comment... That was just a question to back up or not an information I have collected in French archive which reminds intact : who could identify that "German aircraft shot down in the Dieulet forest" (between Vaux-en Dieulet and La Neuville-sur-Meuse, Ardennes)?

I won't probably receive an answer, but this is just another bottle throw in sea...

Yours sincerely
