Re: American Aces Died in 2021
Frank,
In Stars & Bars Cleveland is listed as having 4-2-4 claims. His confirmed claims seem to be as follows: 05-Aug-52 MiG-15 15-Sep-52 MiG-15 26-Sep-52 MiG-15 28-Sep-52 MiG-15 Was there a fifth confirmed claim? Regards. Tom |
Re: American Aces Died in 2021
Tom,
In the early 20-oughts, Dolph Overton investigated Chick's probable claims, using Russian records submitted to the US as part of the mutual POW/MIA investigations carried out from the '90s to that point. He found that a Russian MiG-15 loss corresponded to one of Chick's probable claims. This information was presented to the American Fighter Aces Association Victory Confirmation Board, and was accepted. The documentation was then presented to the Air Force Board for the Correction of Military Records, and was eventually accepted. in 2008. The probable claim, which was confirmed, was on September 21, 1952. Enjoy! Frank. |
