Duplicate Stkz. on Ju88 A Models - history and info needed 3E+JM

Well this is odd...

I picked this up recently...thinking it was one of the books/documents collected in 1943 from the Hare Hill Ju88 3E+HM cash...

It is the engine log book for Ju88 3E+HM.

Code is the same...as is the unit...

HOWEVER...

The werk number and model are totally different...and these dates go until 1944...a year after the bird went down in the UK.

Soooooooo...

Was it common for a duplicate Stkz. to be used on the same type of aircraft...within the same unit?

Or is the hare Hill Ju88's Stkz. INCORRECT?

I was curious if we know any info about this bird (W.Nr. 5791)?

TIA

It's not a Skz but a Vkz.

Right...

but both aircraft would have been marked on the outside with these codes...I guess I had the impression that this type of coding was unique to each aircraft...no?

Or is it like an Me109 with a "Yellow 6" - where numerous aircraft within the unit had the same marking throughout the war?

Not unique. Code letters used repeatedly as with the Bf 109 example you gave.

Simple rule:
- Stammkennzeichen are unique
- Verbandskennzeichen are reusable, if a replacement plane is delivered after loss; otherwise there would not be enough individual letters for planes in a Staffel

Having explaned that hopefully so that it can be easily remembered I have request, too.
Could you show the front page of the booklet (Bordbuch?) and entries on following pages?
I assume it contains e.g. Engine maintainance, repairs or changes, etc.

Strange a Ju88A-4 with a Jumo211P instead a Jumo211J?
