Dear All,
Do you happen to know which city or town (or maybe village) in Germany Alfred Budde was from?
There are few online sources and none of them indicates his birthplace: http://www.luftwaffe.cz/budde.html
(Anyway, one doesn't always spend all one's life in one's birthplace. If he moved somewhere else, is it indicated anywhere?)

His last address was in Kolzig, Krs. Grünberg in Niederschlesien. This is now Poland. he was also born in that area.

He was born in Kölmchen, Kreis Freystadt.
When he joined the Luftwaffe his parents owned/lived in the Postamt, Kolzig, Kreis Grünberg.

Thank you very much for your detailed reply. Do you happen to know something more about his family? From what you say it seems that his parents were clerks at the post office. Do you happen to know, for example, how many brothers and sisters he had?

His father was the local post master.

I have no knowledge of other family members.
