Download problems from UK National Archives
 

Hello,

For 3 days in a row, I have tried to download SAAF files from the UK National Archives website.

I am able to find them, put them in my basket and start to checkout but each time when I tried to submit my order I have an error message telling me
" Sorry, an error occurred while processing your request.
The remote server returned an unexpected response: (400) Bad Request."

Does everybody have the same message ?

I have tried various files, and different web browsers, with no success.

Hallo Laurent,

I had exactly the same problem and response 2 or 3 days ago when attempting to download AIR 78 files. I have not tried since.

Worked fine for me last night with a purchased file from AIR 27.

Must be an error on their end, or a recent browser update (if you're using the same browser type). Checking on the 400 error code most of the time it is a browser problem but can be caused by a fault on the server.

I contactde them and they said

"We are working on fixing this problem which is affecting some large files and hope to resolve it shortly."

As a sample I said I was trying to download AIR 54/27.

they said

"Because this is free access to this file you might be able to download it directly from the image view tab without needing to add it to the shopping basket: http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/SearchUI/image/Index/C2707637?isFullDescription=False; you can also browse the images from this page."

That link worked


and if you go to

http://discovery.nationalarchives.go...e/C2707637?v=r

you should be able to find other files in class
