Need help 15th AF B-24

First post...looking for help finding info on a B-24.

I have a small grouping with paperwork but no MACR for CPL Leonard L. Butenas SN: 15132766 a gunner from 345 bomb squadron, 98 bomb group. I have the IDPR but can't figure out which B-24 he was on or the circumstances of his death.

I know he was lost on 22 March 1945 and the target was Vienna SE Communications. I have a mission record for mission 400 with the following info:

457B Donovan (pilot) TO 0759 Time Landed - scratch with Landed Bari wounded man - added. Then scratched out and hand written "dead man."

I'd like to know which aircraft he was in and learn if it was flak or aircraft. Also any info on him appreciated.

Many thanks!
Marc

Hello,
457 are the last three numbers of the a/c serial. "B" is I expect the a/c in squadron letter.
My guest would be 42-78457.

Many thanks! That's a great help!

If anyone finds info on this - specifically flak vs fighters or anything else I would appreciate it.
Marc
