Commissioned into the RAF Technical Branch

Would it be possible for an NCO Pilot to be awarded a commission in the Technical Branch?
I am looking at the career of Sydney Walter Griffin 49536.
From his NCO number 363597 he enlisted in the mid 20's.
I have his date of birth as 13.6.1907.
I also have a Sgt SW Griffin flying Gladiators with 127 squadron RAF in the Syrian Campaign.
Taking into account that 127 Sqn was formed from the staff of 4 SFTS,
Could these two men be the same person?
Regards
Andy

Re: Commissioned into the RAF Technical Branch

In simple terms yes. I was in touch with a Sgt pilot who was injured in a crash immediately pre-War and when he recovered, he was commissioned into the Technical Branch and later retired as an Air Cdre
