Re: Photo LVG C.II

Hi Stig,

The same machine from a slightly different angle is included in Aeronaut's LVG Vol.2, but you can't see the serial as well or indeed increase the size of the photo on your pc. But it does have anice Ronny Barr profile of this machine too. Thanks muchly for your view.Hopefully one day it'll prove possible to id the unit as its such a strikingly marked machine.

Clint

Peter Grosz in WDF 106 P.3 states that this machine belonging to FFA 33 may have been a victim of Jean Navarre and contrary to the seller, the soldiers in the photo would appear to be french.

This aircraft was shot down by Adj Jacques Toussaint Ortoliof N 31. Has anyone the serial number of the LVG?

Re: Photo LVG C.II

Hello,

Currently on ebay are two photos of an LVG C.II. Possibly C.494/15 (?) at:

https://www.ebay.de/itm/Groses-Foto-...4AAOSws~pfUnf3

https://www.ebay.de/itm/Groses-Foto-...MAAOSw2IxfUnes

If they are of C.494/15 then the aircraft is shown at a different stage of its career than in the photos of that machine shown in Aeronaut's LVG Aircraft of WW.I Vol.2 P.30.
