Loss of Bf 110 in the Alps - 13.06.43?
Hi Guy's,
Recently purchased some crash photos of a Messerschmitt Bf 110. The date on reverse of photo has 13.06.1943 with aircraft code being D5 + WA. Can anyone share any further information regarding the crew and Wnr.? I cannot find any details in my files regarding the incident! Kind regards, Melvin www.aircrewremembrancesociety.co.uk |

Bf 110G-2 WNr. 6326 with registration DS+WA - not D5+WA - crashed on a ferry flight due to engine trouble on 13.06.43 near Oberkematen. The unit was Flugzeugleitstelle Luftflotte 2, both pilots Ofw. Walter Rottleb and Ofw. Max Staak became wounded.

Maybe you refer to this:
1943-07-18, 9./ZG 26, Bf 110 G-2, 6236, 3U+FT, Nördlich Ätna Flugzeugführer Ofw Bründl, Willi, verletzt Bordfunker Fw Wolfsteiner, Hans, verletzt Feindbeschuß. Bruch 100 %. Matti |

Thank you Matti - I hoped you were able to solve this. Again two twisted numbers like so often. Not to mention the misspelled name.
