Can anybody ID the Ar 234 in the background of this photo of He 280 V7?

From the toned-down (or dirtied-up) national markings, I think it's likely to have been a 1.(F)/100 machine. On 14 March 1945 the unit's strength report included T5+AH, W.Nr. 140149. There is a question about that Werk Nummer because it was also recorded for 4U+DH of 1.(F)/123, shot down 14 February 1945.

Thank you Nick and David,

ASM stands for Air & Space Museum. The photo source is the SDASM (San Diego Air & Space Museum).

Cheers,

Roger

There was a second Ar 234 at Ansbach, probably coded T5+IH. Is anything known about this aircraft?

There was a T5+IH, W.Nr. 140469 with 1.(F)/100 on 14 March 1945.

Ltn. Beck flew a T5+IH on 18 April but was unable to complete his mission.

Nick,
In # 2 you said "On 14 March 1945 the unit's strength report included T5+AH, W.Nr. 140149"
In # 7 you said "There was a T5+AH, W.Nr. 140469 with 1.(F)/100 on 14 March 1945."
Is there a typo somewhere?
Andy

Sorry Andy,

Yes there was: T5+IH = 140649, T5+AH = 140149.

Thank you Nick! That's very helpful. I wonder where T5+IH was originally captured. I believe it was not Ansbach, but that it was later transported to Ansbach.
