Re: Photo Fokker Dr.I
Hello,
I was informed by Bertrand this morning quoting this link hyperscale.com/wnwupdate_1.htm of the sad news that WingnutWings are to permanently close down. This is very sad news and not just for modellers as Wingnut Wings have contributed to a greater interest in World War One aviation. Only this week I was looking at the archive photos for the intended forthcoming Fokker Dr.I kits and I copied the links to the location for those that have not so far had a chance to see the photos .They are at: http://www.wingnutwings.com/ww/produ...tid=3203&cat=1 http://www.wingnutwings.com/ww/produ...tid=3205&cat=1 Lets hope for both the sake of enthusiasts and more importantly for those who have lost their emoloyment that a new owner for the company is found and best wishes for the future to the present owners. Regards, Clint |
Re: Photo Fokker Dr.I
Hello,
Currently on ebay is a photo of a Fokker Dr.I, the seller states both that the photo is original and that the machine is Manfred von Richthofen's and it does resemble Dr.I 127/17. Its at: https://www.ebay.de/itm/original-Fot...EAAOSw2ZhfzSKt I'm not really interested in fighter aces, so its entirely possible this has been seen before. If so apologies in advance. Regards, Clint |

Hello,
Currently on ebay is a photo of a Fokker Dr.I at: https://www.ebay.de/itm/Alte-PK-Foto...0AAOSwvJ9f53rl The large number 5 is unusual and may point to a training unit, as is the fish (?) symbol. Regards, Clint |
Re: Photo Fokker Dr.I
Hello,
Currently on ebay is a photo of a line up of Fokker Dr.I captioned as possibly being taken at Gumbinnen at: https://www.delcampe.net/fr/collecti...345256636.html Would a Dr.I Staffel have been posted in East Prussia at all? It seems a bit unlikely. Regards, Clint |
Re: Photo Fokker Dr.I
Clint this is Jasta 11 probably at Lechelle just after the crosses were modified; the 2 on right are Mohnicke's (swastika) though he had left, and Wenzl's ( bands). The leading edges are picked out in white and black. Possibly also flown by von Linsingen.
