Information concerning the loss of Oberfeldwebel Willie Winklemann - killed 11.11.42
 

Hi,

Can anyone provide details over the loss of Oberfeldwebel Willi Winklemann who was a bordfunker in a transport sqaudron and who was lost in a flight over or between Afrika?

he was an experienced flier with the EK II, the Winter medal and Golden Flight badge.

GQM loss return 17 Nov 1942 item 27:
04.11.42 (not 11.11.42) KGr.z.b.V. 108 Ju 52 WNr. 6931 100% (near Tobruk mid-air collision with Ju 52 6471 Uffz Schuck-crew).

Bm Fw Wippler †
Bs Gefr Eichinger †.
Loss category 22 = destroyed without enemy action on a non-operational flight.
