Loss of Uffz. Erwin Schrott - 14/JG27 - March 1945

Hi,

Can anyone provide additional information on the loss of Uffz. Erwin Schrott who was a young fighter pilot with14/JG 27?

I know he was flying a Me 109 and was killed in an air battle over Osnabruck with P 51s but don't know more than that.

Plus his sterbebild says he was lost on 17.03.45 and information from Kracker Luftwaffe Archive notes 19.03.45?

Is the latter more accurate?

Hello Rick,

in the chronicle Prien, Rodeike, Stemmer "Messerschmitt Bf 109 im Einsatz bei der III. und IV./JG 27" is listed:
19.03.45 14./JG 27 Uffz Erwin Schrott + Luftkampf P-51, Gretesch bei Osnabrück, 100% Bf 109 K-4 rote 15+~.

The NVM says exactly the same....19.3.1945.
