Pilot Martin John CARTER (RAF)
Hello all,
From of the information I obtained, I suppose that pilot CARTER crashed or had to BO in the area Gent / Balegem. He was brought to safety on 14 August 1944 by local members of the resistance group “The secret Army” by the this members : Mr. Meersman, Mr Van De Winckel Wilfried and MD De Prijck. What I’m looking for is to know where pilot CARTER crash landed or ,did his fighter ran into technical problems? Was he attacked by the enemy or is there a other known cause for his action. TIA Regards, Redcap50 |
Re: Pilot Martin John CARTER (RAF)
Hello,
are you sure your man is a pilot? I have found a Sergeant Martin John Carter who was bomb aimer who evaded capture after bailing out from Lancaster LM180 which crashed at Bavegem, Sint-Lievens-Houtem in East Flanders. More information: http://www.aircrewremembered.com/lawrie-john.html https://luchtvaartgeschiedenis.be/co...ter-te-bavegem Kind regards, Timon |
