Oblt/Hptm Dietrich Hermann Von Buttlar

Can anyone throw any light on what this officer might have done/happened to him between 30 Sep 40, when he was awarded the EKI whilst with 1/KG 53 for an attack on Derby 29 Sep 40, and his death as St Kap of 2/KG 6 on 7 May 43. It is believed from his EKM that he was with 4/KG 53 at some time and commanded 6/KG 53 at some time. He received no awards, apart from the Spanish Cross in Silver awarded in May 39 for his time with K88. Was he wounded in Russia for example?
