Is the reprints by shifter exactly the same as the original 1985 2vol edition?

Yes, pretty much so. Several of my photos were used and the paper quality is also good.

I believe so but the paper quality is also acceptable, I've both as some photos from my collection (given by the fellow (s) in them are in the books. To maintain the quality of the paper in general I've used zip lock bags.
