Captured Luftwaffe aircraft in colour

Hello,

I am not sure whether this link has not been posted here before, but there is a very nice colour footage from the Exhibition of captured military hardware held in Moscow in summer 1943, including many Luftwaffe aircraft:

I hope you will enjoy it (full-screen mode recommended)

Question...is that your video? If so, is it possible to get it on DVD?

Hi Ota,

many thanks for sharing this excellent clip with us !
I would be very interested what has become with these aircraft after the war. Any idea ?

Really impressive footage. Thanks for sharing.
Lots of opportunities for reverse engineering...

There was an two part article on this exhibition in Jet and Prop some years ago. If I'm not wrong, all the German equipment was scrapped after the war.

interesting colours - the Ju 88 scheme in particular looks rather fanciful

Thanks for posting Ota...

Mike,

Unfortunately it is not my video - I came across it on YouTube by a pure coincidence. It is a propaganda stuff produced by the Mosfilm agency in 1943 and probably broadcast by one of the Russian TV stations recently. I do not dare to say, whether it can be officially obtained on DVD.

Probably 1943, not 1942. They had a FW-190A-4 in the captured German A/C exhibit.

Re: Captured Luftwaffe aircraft in colour

It is definitely 1943, after Kursk., because there is also on exhibit a Porsche "Elefant" or whaever is its name - I mean the big Sturmgeschütz with the 8,8cm gun which had no MG. These were used for the first time during "Zitadelle".

Re: Captured Luftwaffe aircraft in colour

I'd say this exhibition took place in autumn 1943.
Interesting is a very short picture with Gruppenkomandeur's Bf 109G. It looks like Johannes Steinhoff Bf 109G-2 from II./JG 52. Is it possible ?

Re: Captured Luftwaffe aircraft in colour

They've just found all this equipment in a large hangar in Russia in 2011 and are looking to give items away to a good home or they go for scrap!

If ONLY THAT WAS TRUE!

Many thanks for posting. The color is excellent. They say a color film's quality of color is shown by the facial color tones. Interesting to see what looks like new RLM 70 next to very faded and worn RLM 70.
