Ju 88C-4/6? C9+NT - any info..?
Hello, everyone.
Does anyone have any info on the Junkers Ju 88C-4/6(?) C9+NT that was in an Ebay-auction some days ago? Or operational info in the NJ Geschwader? The aircraft in question was transported by road from Coulommiers airfield to the Frontreparaturbetrieb at Vélizy-Villacoublay - some 77 kilometres. Does anyone have further info on this aircraft as to where and when exactly it crash landed or was destroyed/damaged..? Time frame: somewhat around NOV 1942 according to the info provided by the seller... The aircraft seems to have a two tone grey colour scheme which fits the time frame mentioned... With kind regards, Piet Bouma - NL |

Re: Ju 88C-4/6? C9+NT - any info..?
Ed,
Now that I come to think of it, the seller also had a picture of Ju 88C-6 (-6 most probably, taken from your info) C9+AE - which was parked in front of a hangar at Coulommiers. The aircraft had FuG 202/212 radar arrays on the nose and sported several Abschußbalken on the tail - so after repair this aircraft was handed over (or used extensively) to (by) Prinz Zu Sayn-Wittgenstein... An interesting aircraft - did anyone here obtain the photograph of C9+AE by chance? If so, maybe you would be so kind as to send a scan to Theo Boiten for use in the new NCA series..? That would be a very important contribution to the series... With kind regards and thanks again to all..! Piet Bouma - NL |

I notice that there are other aircraft in trailers being sold by this seller only now because of interest, he has now hiked up starting price

Hi, Ed and Chriss.
This is turning into a strange conversation, which was not my intention at all. "I do not want my info going into Mr. Boiten books." I thought 12 o'clock high! was a forum for people who are interested in all aspects of the air war - and that people here are sharing information so to help each other studying and understanding the greater picture. I also would like to make clear that I do not have anything to do with this seller or seller's prices. The fact that "he has hiked up the starting price" could have another reason. The lorry in front of the trailer with the aircraft (parts) looks like a Beute lorry to me. I'm not a car/lorry enthusiast, but I think the lorry in question might even be British of origin, but I could be wrong. By the way - the aircraft on the trailer are no NJG Nachtjäger, so that can't drive up the price imho. I've managed to buy two pictures of C9+NT for a fair price from this seller, Ed. Your 60% doesn't come near, I'm afraid... ;) Hopefully we can keep sharing info on this fantastic forum, I would appreciate that very much. With kind regards, Piet Bouma |
