Early Halifax queries

Gents,

I have a couple of queries regarding two Halifax incidents during 1941 as I have conflicting information for both. My conflict of information concerns their squadrons; one source saying that one belonged to 35 Sqn and the other to 76 Sqn yet other sources give 76 as being the parent squadron in both cases.

The two aircraft are:
On 15 June 1941, Halifax L9514 (P/O A.Lewin) veered off the secondary runway at Middleton St.George and collapsed the starboard undercarriage.
On 21 July 1941, Halifax L9533 crashed while trying to avoid a Hurricane which had flown across its path as it came in to land at Middleton St.George killing P/O L.Blackwell and four others.

Could anyone clear this up for me please?

TIA

Dave

To update Chris a bit, L9514 initially served with No 35 Sq before being transferred to No 76 Sq where it was finally lost in the landing accident quoted.

L9533 was handed over to No 76 Sq as first and only unit until its demise as stated.

I suppose that is why your sources conflict.
