Geographic help May 19, 1944

On this date, a two-ship flight of the 380th Fighter Squadron escorted a straggling B-17 to a location I cannot decipher, where the B-17 was picked up by some P-38's. The town/city or general area appears to be Kim????tx but it is so unclear I cannot be certain of anything. The two P-51 pilots then proceeded on towards Kiel and the original mission was a withdrawal support from the Berlin area. Does anyone have a possible name for this location? I have tried various combinations of the letters, tried doing a Google Map hunt tracing from Kiel back towards Berlin, all with no luck. Thank you.

Try the gazetteer at https://www.meyersgaz.org/

search on Kim* or Kin*t* and see what you get

It is good for German towns and villages

Thanks for the leads, I will follow up on the link for possible towns. As for Kyritz, I think it may be too far off the track for the pilots to end up at Kiel to make landfall but will not rule it out. I am not very tech savvy, unfortunately, and will have to figure out how to get the page in question off a flash drive and into a format to get posted here.

I went back and did further manipulation of the document and it looks like it says RIBNITZ, which throws my original message way off. Sorry about that. I now have to figure out if there is another Ribnitz between Berlin and Kiel, as all I find on the link provided by MW Giles, google and google maps is Ribnitz-Damgarten, which is way too far to the NW of Berlin.

Yet another gaff--guess my age is really showing. I meant NE of Berlin for Ribnitz-Damgarten.

I believe it is the first one mentioned in the link, as that would be more in line with going west towards Kiel. Thank you to everyone for their help.
