English honorary title practice
 
I just encountered a in which Lord Beaverbrook was addressed as "Max Beaverbrook". As far as I know, that is very wrong. What say you Englishmen?

Depends on how well you know the guy. It also depends on whether he was a current lord or would one day inherit the title. There are whole books devoted to this mediaeval nonsense, e.g. "Debrett's Correct Form" because it is so complex.

The person whote wrote so is Finnish and wrote so in a history doctoral thesis. I.e. he referred to "Max Beaverbrook the minister of trade".

He was knighted in 1911 so until then was a commoner. After then he was Lord Beaverbrook I would say
