Its BIG, FAT and in my hands...And no I am not in the bathroom! Today I received my copy Of Jerry's Dora book and WOW!
This book is all it is built up to be and more, You members will love it.
the photos are large and clear for 60+ year old reproductions. many color photos included and beautiful color profiles by Tom Tullis.
The pilot fist hand accounts are GREAT, Copies of Dora pilot Flugbuch's and several other type documents abound.
I got the Delux edition signed by Nine pilots.. and even the transparent cover page to protect signatures is excellent, Each pilots name and Unit is transposed over his signature when the page is over the signed page. A very nice touch.
All footnotes can be found at the bottom of the page listed, so no wearing the book out flipping to the rear for notes.
There are many surprises included I will not spoil at this time, so you all can find these on your own.
I spoke with Jerry tonight, and the gang at eagle has been very busy filling orders...So if you ordered from them you should receive your copy soon.
A tidbit for you, Amazon has not placed their order yet, so it may be a short time before anyone who ordered with them will receive their book.
I suggest ordering direct to get your copy QUICK.
YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!!
Kevin

You should be receiving your orders any day now, if ordered direct through Eagle Editiones Ltd.
Also Amazon has put in their order with Eagle last week, from what I understand the order was the largest pre order for any book they have offered! so to me that means several enthusiasts have pre ordered the Dora book from Amazon.....
Again if you want this book NOW, Order direct for fast shipping from the Eagle site....If you placed an order with Amazon, you should? see your book in the next few weeks I hope.... Enjoy!!!!!
Kevin

..now that my copy is here, its easy to see what all the fuss has been about. I mean I'm not easily impressed - probably too blasé for my own good - but for what its worth this even tops the JG 300 books IMHO. The larger format certainly helps with the beautifully clear photo and artwork reproduction. Super pilot accounts, including a long passage from Roderich Cescotti (JG 301) and fascinating late-war stories from JG 2. Congratulations to the author (and Mrs C....) for putting it all together so consummately...!!

Eagle Editions' Fw 190 Dora vol. 1 book in France

The book is arrived in France (one week after the order). The book is very good, full of unpublished photos (there are around 30 color stills taken from films). In one word : it is a "must".
Forgive my very basic french.

Judy, are you not supplying Amazon this time? I've just had an email to say that my order which was placed in July will not be delivered until January if at all. I use Amazon as it is the only way to get postage charges that are not half the value of the book when shipped to New Zealand.

If you could advise what is happening that would be really helpful... in the past Amazon have always been able to safely deliver Eagle volumes in a timely manner.

Thanks for any info.

Got my copy on Friday, all I can say is WOW!

but I noticed a small error in the book probably...

on page 29, the caption to the picture of Fw. Ungar.
while stating that he was a very experienced pilot, only some lines further, it is stated that he finished the war with "28 combat missions" completed, a rather low score IMHO.

is this correct or this is an error?

otherwise, a great book about one of my favourite fighter aircraft of all time

cheers
phil
