This should make for very interesting reading. There's almost nothing in print on the KPAF. Red Wings Over The Yalu is a wonderful book, but is mostly concerned with China's PLAAF.

It will be particularly interesting to see what Dildy's sources are.

Hello,

I think you mean:

Red Devils Over The Yalu: A Chronicle of Soviet Aerial Operations in the Korean War 1950-53
Seidov,Igor (Trans.& ed., Stuart Britton)
Solihull:Helion & Company,2014.

I agree, a first-class book.

I think Jim Oxley meant "Red Wings over the Yalu: China, the Soviet Union, and the Air War in Korea" by Xiaoming Zhang.

I think Jim is referring to Red Wings Over the Yalu: China, the Soviet Union, and the Air War in Korea by Xhang Xiaoming, published by Texas A&M Press in 2002.

Enjoy!

Frank.

Why has this beauty never been published...

It was published in 2002 by Specialty Press. It is available on Amazon, with a rather long URL, so maybe just search for MiG Alley by Thompson. https://www.amazon.com/MiG-Alley-Sab...5&unfiltered=1

The Helion edition (shown on Amazon) was a reprint which apparently was never issued.

Enjoy!

Frank.

Re: Fury from the North [Korean War]

Yes, thanks for that, I am aware of this early edition, coming in at 192 pages.
The proposed newer edition had 288 pages, 223 colour photos and 52 B/W, so it would have been literally a new book.
