Air Enthusiast magazine index

Anyone with AE issues 36, 37, 99, 100, 101? Could you check out what were the primary articles in those issues?

Re: Air Enthusiast magazine index

While talking of AIR Enthusiast, I haven't had the chance to check it out in the past two years (I have had a subscription in the past 20 years or so).
Does it still contain reference articles on the history of the pre-1945 aviation, particularily European (and not British)?

Denes

Sad to say that AE ceased publication last year with issue No 131.

Well, lately the quality of AE dropped like a cow´s tail. Ken Wixey kept recycling old material, ditto on articles on German aircraft (recycled Green and Price stuff). WW One articles had almost disappeared (no more great references from Peter M. Grosz et al) and jet topics don´t simply interest me.

Re: Air Enthusiast magazine index

That's a very-very sad news. For many years (decades?) this magazine was a reference publication on matters related to the history of aviation. I managed to publish several articles and readers' comments in AE throughout the years, and planned some more in the near future.

Which UK publication 'took over', if I may say so?

AFAIK none. Though I have not seen latest FlyPasts if they have adopted some of AE´s content.

Re: Air Enthusiast magazine index

Perhaps Aeroplane Monthly could also return to its roots that were lost when Michael "Moron" Oakey took over from Richard Riding and FlyPastised the magazine by increasing colour and picture size at the expense of text plus driving down the quality of those articles. Again, excellent series like Per Mare Probare and Probe Probare have not even been approached under Oakey´s editorship.
