JG54 photos question
Hallo gentlemen!
Does anybody know, on wich dates following photos were made? 1st is, I belive, february or march 1943. Exact date? Kittel's claim. 2nd is very early 1945? 1000's claim of 7./JG54 (only "new" - i.e. from aug.'44 or "whole"./ including when 7./JG54 was 4./JG54)? |
Re: JG54 photos question
The first photo might have been celebration of Otto Kittel's 39 victory of 19 February 1943, which was also the JG 54's 4000 victory claim of the war.

Re: JG54 photos question
Sidney, yes, thx a lot.
I have an answer from another person, who confirmed 1st photo as a part of photo series, showing 4000th victory of JG54. But the second photo? |
Re: JG54 photos question
Evgeny,
I was really interested to hear the feedback on my assessment. Thank you. As for the 2nd photo, I do not think that the "new" 7th Staffel could claim 1,000 victories from August 1944 until the end of the war. Thus, that claim must have been the aggregate of the "original" 4th and the "new" 7th claims. Regards, Sinisa |
Re: JG54 photos question
Yes, agreed. But on what date it happened?

Re: JG54 photos question
I could be wrong but for me this kind of wavy line is from IV./JG54, so nothing to do with 7./JG54 !

Re: JG54 photos question
If you are referring to the second photo, I think you'll find that is part of someone's clothing. He is standing in front of where the marking you describe would be.
Cheers |
Re: JG54 photos question
Ok, could be an artefact !

Hallo guys! Does anobody have this photo of just a better quality? I am thinking to add 4000th victory in my article about Kittel.
